A sanctuary shaped by water

The spectacular GROHE SPA Aqua Sanctuary – where water, wellness and luxury are celebrated through refined and innovative design.

At a Thought Leadership Forum in Bangkok this September, GROHE SPA unveiled the sensational GROHE SPA Aqua Sanctuary that spoke of luxury through curated water-centric design.

The luxury sub-brand of GROHE, a leading global brand renowned for its complete bathroom solutions and kitchen fittings, presented an outstanding installation that was first launched at Salone del Mobile this year and later exhibited in New York – all to great acclaim.

The experiential and immersive exhibition showcased the variety of products available to architects and designers, developers and homeowners with a swathe of new finishes, the latest technology and multiple product lines.

With the demand for personalised wellbeing experiences growing substantially across the Asia Pacific region, the GROHE SPA Aqua Sanctuary exemplifies future possibilities for design that meet all the criteria for wellbeing and living better.

The exhibition was situated in the heart of Bangkok where the iconic Nai Lert Park was transformed into a sanctuary of wellbeing. Across three interconnected sanctums, the brand exhibited its vision for the future where the bathroom experience is heightened, raised from the purely functional to a multi-sensory space that enriches daily life.

Antoine Besseyre des Horts, Leader, LIXIL Global Design, Asia commented: “Across Asia, high-end residential and hospitality properties need to address aspirations for deeply personal experiences. The GROHE SPA Aqua Sanctuary was created to meet these aspirations by leveraging the transformative power of water and demonstrating how spaces can be elevated into sensory retreats through tailored colours, materials and finishes. The installation is designed around personalisation and wellbeing – serving as an inspiration and a platform to converse and work together with the design community and industry partners to shape the present and future of personalised luxury.”

The GROHE SPA Aqua Sanctuary experience began at the entrance, a transitional space, where black curtaining cossets the visitor and heralds the start of an intriguing journey.

Sanctum 1 featured a futuristic Rainshower Icon 3D concept shower suspended as branches, reminiscent of trees in a forest. This ‘tree chandelier’ shower was breathtaking in its resolution and the originality of the design was a highlight of the exhibition. As water is at the very heart of all GROHE SPA products the concept showcased how water-centric spatial design can enhance and support a calming and personal experience to support wellbeing.

Sanctum 2 focused on the GROHE SPA Atrio Private Collection that featured Caesarstone quartz handle accents. The space highlighted the GROHE SPA x Buster + Punch partnership with a single, cohesive design language that harmonises hardware, lighting and water in four finishes – Brushed Warm Sunset, Brushed Cool Sunrise, Supersteel and Phantom Black. With this collection there is the opportunity for designers to create fully coordinated, spa-like sanctuaries, tailored wellbeing and timeless sophistication for their clients.

The third and largest sanctum separated water into three distinct self-care rituals – Preparation, Relaxation and Rejuvenation. Dark and dramatic, each area is customised with the GROHE SPA Allure Gravity collection in Phantom Black with Caesarstone Vanilla Noir details, modular Rainshower Aqua Tiles and concealed Grohtherm control.

This sanctum distilled the idea of water as calming and relaxing, with surrounds that speak of luxury along with customisation. It displayed how interchangeable glass and quartz cover plates, multiple mixer configurations and the full GROHE Colours range can provide extraordinary flexibility to tailor a design for individual requirements.

Along with the GROHE SPA Aqua Sanctuary the event also provided opportunities for industry exchange with keynotes and a panel discussion exploring the design and commercial trends that are shaping regional luxury hospitality and residential projects.

Audrey Yeo, Leader, LIXIL Water Technology APAC, shared, “In Asia Pacific’s high-end property sector, prestige is increasingly defined by how a space enhances personal wellbeing. GROHE SPA brings together modular design, precision craftsmanship and the finest materials and finishes to help designers and developers create highly personalised retreats. By reimagining the private master suite as an ‘Aqua Sanctuary’, we can transform an essential living space into a distinctive expression of luxury, strengthening both the customer experience and the property’s value without adding unnecessary complexity.”
