Founded in 2010, Beeline is the result of a sincere love of authenticity in furniture design, and with the Ridge collection, a love of the classic Australian corrugated iron roof.
The corrugated iron roof, while not as flashy as the Sydney Opera House or Harbour Bridge, is equally essential to the Australian design language. Ridge, from Melbourne design house Beeline, honours this unsung hero of our outback design landscape.
Composed of a side table, coffee table, dining table, stool and bench, the Ridge collection sees the Beeline designers Adam Brislin and Lucy Grant taking the iconic shape of the corrugated iron roof and applying it to the base of each object in the range.
The Ridge collection features a gentle corrugated curved base finished in 2-Pak with either timber veneer or stone tops. Handcrafted with artisanal care from Beeline’s Melbourne creative warehouse, every aspect of Ridge’s collection has been carefully considered, from planning and sketching to design and manufacture, resulting in a range of unique pieces that reflect Beeline’s aesthetic, one of relaxed modern designer style.
The Ridge collection is the latest in designer furniture from Beeline, available nationally through Zenith Interiors. For Beeline, creating their unique range of tables, stools and furniture, a careful design process and philosophy informs every aspect of the furniture’s birth, and Ridge is no different.
Beeline begins with selecting and sourcing some of Australia’s most beautiful hardwood timbers, ensuring the material is ethically sourced and sustainably farmed. Once chosen, co-founder Adam Brislin sets to work, bringing over 15 years of award winning designer skill to transform the timber into the designer piece of furniture. With Ridge’s corrugated metal base, this timber is then secured to the top with technologically advanced joinery techniques before being finished with the brand’s unique signature flying bee logo.
With passion for authenticity and sincerity in design, it’s no surprise Beeline is making waves in the Australian design scene, and this new partnership established with Zenith to offer the Ridge collection nationwide is an exciting step for an exciting local brand.
