The AHEAD Asia 2019 awards were celebrated in Singapore on 7 March at the Andaz Hotel. Were you there? We recap the party through the event photos.
March 22nd, 2019
We previously reported on the winning projects in AHEAD Asia 2019. The evening’s big winners were Amanyangyun Shanghai, Middle House Shanghai and Tsingpu Yangzhou Retreat.
Were you at the ceremony? The Indesign Media team was there, presenting the award for best hotel conversion (won by Amanyangyun Shanghai – Shanghai Guyin Real Estate / Aman / Kerry Hill Architects). Plenty of familiar industry faces were there too, including Bill Bensley – winner of the 2019 Outstanding Contribution Award.
In his acceptance speech, Bensley spoke passionately about one of his latest projects (one that he owns) – Shinta Mani Wild in Cambodia. He described the property, which offers luxury accommodation within 15 tents set in a patch of rainforest, as a way for him to contribute to nature conservation in Cambodia. He recalled fondly how on his sixtieth birthday, three wild cats were released on the property.
