With the growing trend for open-plan workspaces, privacy has become a consuming issue and this was apparent at the recent Neocon 2013 exhibition. On show were numerous products designed to provide privacy and absorb sound, such as sound-absorbing felts and wall finishes.
On display at the joint Unika Vaev (Instyle’s American distributor), ICF and Nienkamper showroom were Instyle’s highly successful marle felt and textured fabrics, Feel, Feel Stripe and Chunky, and wall finishes including the innovative ecoustic collection. Wovin Wall’s Foliar, ecoustic moov and Cove were also previewed.
Beyond these products, the furniture themselves were designed for greater privacy such as the waiting room chairs with large felt hoods that could be raised or lowered, and privacy booths featuring felt and padded walls.
This year’s Neocon event featured more than 700 showrooms and was visited by over 40,000 architecture and design professionals from around the world.
Instyle and Wovin are distributed in Singapore by Infinity Pte Ltd and in Hong Kong by Carlene Cheong Limited and KNDHK Company Limited.
