Building Guild’s early contract involvement in Holixir, an all-in-one women’s wellness space, culminated as a high-calibre, sophisticated and serene project with collaboration and meticulous client consultation at its core.

A curved white reception desk inlaid with pale weaved cane and lit by a warming wall sconce gives visitors their first taste of Holixir’s welcoming and bespoke atmosphere. The entrance sets the tone for the calming women’s wellness centre which combines warm wood tones, whites and greenery in a sun-drenched studio space on Sydney’s idyllic Northern Beaches.
The client’s brief outlined the need for a sophisticated yet hospitable allied health and holistic service space that caters to pre and post-natal women. They requested three separate studios for yoga, barre and pilates classes, alongside consultancy rooms and amenities that could accommodate mothers, infants and toddlers. What resulted was a project that skilfully combines welcoming comfort with modern clinical capabilities.
Designed by Brisbane’s Collectivus and executed by Sydney-based Building Guild, the project was turned around on a tight eight week deadline.
The clients had an existing relationship with Building Guild, but it was the word of mouth recommendation that vouched for the company’s highly regarded reputation.
Building Guild delivered a distinctly bespoke space through careful consultation with the client, beginning with early contract involvement and culminating in end-to-end detailing of the entire project.
“Collaboration is a guiding force at Building Guild, our core values support a client journey that stems from an ongoing dialogue with all stakeholders,” says Building Guild. “With Holixir as our partners, we approached the project as a unique challenge.”
Beyond the entrance to the multi-level Balgowlah site there are multiple break-out spaces in serene white, salmon and beige tones, allowing visitors to relax before their classes or consultations.
The studios’ muted tones enhance the tranquil atmosphere, while polished modern elements, such as the barre mirrors and state of the art pilates machines, concretise the advanced abilities of the facility.
The theme continues in consultant rooms, where massage, fertility specialists, 4D ultrasound devices, councillors, midwives and other specialists ensure a rounded and contemporary approach to women’s health.
Building Guild is a multi-disciplinary construction management firm committed to delivering consistently superior quality, skill and reliability. The company works across commercial, leisure, industrial, hospitality, retail and remedial sectors and has delivered more than 200 projects since its inception in 2009.
Despite the tight turnaround, Building Guild was able to bring the Holixir brief to life, with high-quality detailing and meticulous construction standards.
