Woods Bagot has welcomed Todd Hammond to the position of Director of Interiors, based in the firm’s Sydney studio.
January 30th, 2014
A leader in Australian interior design, Todd’s passion lies in delivering the very best in functional, sustainable and innovative environments, enabling organisations to be leaders in their respective fields.
His creative nerve developed early during his time as a craftsman, creating interiors and product for hospitality, retail and residential clients that were akin to a tailored suit. His early passion for knowledge of assembly, expression of a material’s characteristics and attention to detail, have been attributes in his interiors since.
Prior to joining Woods Bagot, Todd held directorial positions at BVN Donovan Hill and prior to that at who|design. Todd’s leadership within a creative studio environment is based on collaboration, knowledge sharing and mentoring of staff. External to the studio, his leadership focuses on client strategy, relationships and marketing.
“This is the start of an exciting year for Woods Bagot and myself. Working with such a dynamic and skilled team, my transition to Woods Bagot will be about further developing the design language internally and with our clients, and ensuring the high level of design that I am known for,” says Todd.
“This will ultimately benefit the Woods Bagot design culture and what we deliver for our clients. As designers we are privileged to create unique environments that connect, engage and sustain life.”
Recognised as a design and thought leader, projects under Todd’s direction range from the most unique of creative agency fitouts, strategised workplaces for large professional service firms, through to hospitality venues and private residences.
“Woods Bagot’s already strong interiors team is strengthened further with the appointment of Todd Hammond to the role of Director of Interiors. Todd’s design approach combines vision, attention to detail and an ability to truly understand and deliver on each client’s brief.” says Woods Bagot Principal Domenic Alvaro.
Todd has worked on many widely-recognised and awarded projects over the past fifteen years, most recently Macquarie Bank workplace, Sydney; Virgin Active Healthclubs in both Sydney and Singapore; Herbert Smith Freehills, Sydney.
