Nature and geometry play muse in ALPI’s Designer Collection of decorative surfaces by Piero Lissoni.
January 27th, 2017
Two new collections of decorative surfaces were introduced to the design world by ALPI during Milan Fuori Salone 2016. Specialising in the production of decorative surfaces in reconstituted wood veneer, ALPI showcased yet another example of their flair for product innovation with the new Designer Collection by their art director Piero Lissoni.
The two new collections, Xilo 2.0 and Tarsie take inspiration from nature and geometry respectively, with Piero Lissoni employing his considerable design versatility to create a truly original look for commercial and home interiors.
Lissoni interprets nature with the typical lightness of his creative language in the new Xilo 2.0 collection of decorative veneers, presented sequentially in a balanced chromatic range of four colours from pale to dark.
The second collection, Tarsie utilises three bold geometric motifs from the woodworking tradition, with the design outcome guaranteed to stun and impress. Reproduced through inlay-effect printing on the variations of Xilo 2.0, the Tarsie collection includes Tarsie 1 that combines the various hues of the collection on the herringbone motif; Tarsie 2 featuring a delicate two-tone diamond motif; and Tarsie 3 with a classic running pattern inspired by industrial woodflooring, in a mix of different Xilo 2.0 tones.
An award-winning architect and designer, Piero Lissoni is an art director for major brands and has won several prestigious design awards including the Good Design Award, the Red Dot Award and the ADI Compasso d’Oro.
