Lamitak unveils its Vol.1, Intervention collection of laminates with design longevity in mind and addresses climate change with sustainable business practices.
October 21st, 2022
Lamitak Vol. 1, Intervention is Lamitak’s most concise high-pressure laminate collection, with more than 55 new designs, tallying up to 423 laminates across its repertoire of categories – Woods, Solids, Patterns, and a recently formalised section, Specialities. Despite the extensive offering, Lamitak Vol.1, Intervention collection seeks to redefine industry practices by reducing laminate sample requisition and focusing more on its application, versatility and infinite design possibilities.
Lamitak Vol.1, Intervention debuted at the recent FIND Design Fair Asia 2022 to great success. Design favourites include Cloudy Cement and Microcement laminates for endless surfacing possibilities – on the ceiling, wall panel, cabinetry and more. While Microcement resembles stucco, lime wash and chalk paint in a fine Microdots (MD) finish, Cloudy Cement is finished with deep Brushstrokes (BS) to achieve a more textural characteristic.
In contrast, Pompeo, Genesis and Travertine are smooth to the touch and resemble natural stones. Nature-inspired designs are also apparent in Savannah Wood, Barn Wood, Yugen Oak and Malibu Oak from the Woods series.
Lamitak Vol.1, Intervention will be available to the Singapore market in mid-October 2022, while Asia and regional distribution will commence in the first quarter of 2023. Discover the new collection here.
Lamitak recognises climate change as a long-term risk; hence it has taken an eco-conscious approach with its aptly named Lamitak Vol.1, Intervention collection. The brand brings new ways to sample its products via the recyclable FSC-certified catalogue or by accessing its digital version. Within it is an invaluable guide that facilitates a simplified process of identifying wood species and grain structure to foster deeper learning.
In addition, designated Lamitak recycling boxes are provided so the A&D industry can drop the samples off for re-distribution instead of binning them. The eco-conscious company, which has its laminates endorsed by Singapore Green Label, also donates off-season laminates to students for various projects and graduation shows.
To further reduce the need for physical catalogues and samples, a new 5,300 square feet Lamitak Studio is slated to open in the first quarter of 2023. The new building, located at Senoko will be equipped with Electric Vehicles (EV) charging station to include greener mobility and future-proof towards Singapore Green Plan 2030.
