Workspace Commercial Furniture delivers a thoughtful tribute to the essence of South Sydney – from honouring the traditional custodians of the land to celebrating the community’s beloved Rabbitohs.

Nestled within the scenic Heffron Park, the Rabbitoh’s state-of-the-art new home embodies the spirit and passion of the Maroubra community and surrounds. Workspace Commercial Furniture’s soulful contributions to the project have helped to harness the community spirit of inclusion, pride and passion by showcasing the best of Australian craftsmanship.
The Heffron Centre is located on the traditional land of the Gadigal and Bidjigal people, and the project pays respects to the immense talents of First Nation’s artists as well as Aboriginal Participation in Construction. The artwork on the interior and exterior of the building depicts significant events and seasons from the Bidjigal calendar, including the Mullet Run and the migration of stingrays into Kamay/Botany Bay.
Builder ADCO comments that the centre is “the largest development undertaken by Randwick City Council. The project achieved 2.5% Aboriginal Participation in Construction (1% above the state’s minimum), over 400 solar panels were installed for sustainability, and over 50 trades and trade partners engaged, many local.”
The Heffron Centre is a cutting-edge community centre with a diverse repertoire of facilities designed to cater to people of all ages and abilities. Supporting community, sport and educational programs are just the beginning; the centre also features publicly accessible areas such as a café, hall of fame, merchandise shop and fan area for people to watch training on the NRL standard showcase field.
Central to the design’s success is the careful attention to detail paid by Workspace Commercial Furniture.
Subtle yet integral to the creation of the centre’s welcoming atmosphere, Workspace Commercial Furniture gently incorporates the iconic Rabbitoh’s colours into the furniture. This thoughtful touch fosters a sense of unity and pride within the centre by nodding to Marouba’s beloved community icons.
A particular standout contribution is the custom ‘Forza’ boardroom table, which emerges as a captivating fusion of elegance and team spirit.
The piece combines sophisticated design with passion and pride, integrating the Rabbitoh’s unmistakable ‘Bunny’ logo in a cheerful display of team spirit, local heritage, and the indomitable Australian spirit.
Workspace Commercial Furniture stands as a symbol of exceptional quality backed by expert Australian craftsmanship, drawing from more than a century’s worth of experience in the industry.
With a commitment to providing the finest health, education, and leisure services, the Heffron Centre beckons all residents to come and experience a new era in community engagement and recreation. It’s a significant addition to Maroubra’s landscape and promises to be a cherished community hub for generations to come.
