How does the design of our hospitals best equip those who work in them to help those who use them? How will the design of our hospitals and aged care facilities be affected and what needs to change or be adapted? Caring for our sick and elderly has never been more front-of-mind and the responsibility of good design is to enhance every experience. What needs to change, adapt or remain the same to ensure the design of health care and seniors’ facilities are equipped to face the new decade?

Mark Healey, Studio Director, Bates Smart

Mark Healey is a Studio Director of Bates Smart Architects based in Melbourne, Australia. With a background in both nursing and interior design and more than 20 years working on major hospital projects, Leanne really knows her way around the healthcare sector.

Before joining us in Melbourne, Leanne worked at Woods Bagot, Bates Smart and DesignInc. Most recently, she was Regional Director at Destravis, where she shared her strategic insight with healthcare clients. At Hassell, she’ll be focused on expanding our knowledge and capability within the sector, both in Australia and across our global studios.
