Injecting identity into adaptable workplaces: the brand harnessing the visual treasure trove of cross-sector design culture

The magnetic pull of certain spaces comes down to how seamlessly they work and, more importantly, how they feel. Recognising this, Kettal Workplace draws on the uplifting codes of other sectors to deliver contemporary workplace design.

Injecting identity into adaptable workplaces: the brand harnessing the visual treasure trove of cross-sector design culture

In the hybrid workplace era, adaptability is a must. However, expectations shift further still. The question now is: how to embed distinct identity into ever-changing settings? Kettal Workplace’s answer ingrains liveliness and individuality through residential- and hospitality-inspired workplace collections. “The boundaries between workplace, home and hospitality environments will continue to blur, because what we ultimately seek in any setting is the same: to feel comfortable, inspired and connected,” says Antonio Navarro, Creative Director at Kettal.

Barcelona-based, Kettal brings six decades of outdoor, residential and hospitality design expertise to Kettal Workplace. To be presented by Kettal and Mobilia at Saturday Indesign 2026, Kettal Workplace offers architectural systems and workplace furnishings that support the way people move between interaction and focus, while futureproofing a fit-out for evolving needs. Emphasising its visual lexicon, Kettal Workplace considers that the future appeal of adaptable offices relies on pairing practical acoustics, ergonomics and cable management with striking identity; instilling an environment’s sentiment, rather than simply furnishing it. Combatting the austerity that befalls many an office, the brand’s architectural lens sees palette, shape and rich materiality enhance aesthetics beyond functional performance.

Each Kettal Workplace hero collection comprises design-led pieces, balanced by complementary finishes that enable designers to curate cohesive environments. Developed in partnership with the Eames Office, the Eames Pavilion System features an adaptable collaboration space. It harnesses the prefabricated, modular architecture and human-scaled design for which Charles and Ray Eames are renowned. Strong geometries, iconic mid-century lines and warmth position it as a focal point. Foster + Partners Industrial Design’s Area collection includes flexible table systems with power utility atop colonnade-like supports. Barber Osgerby’s U-Type seat embeds ergonomic support into calm sophistication. A sculptural addition, Shogun by Verner and Panton offers the original 1990s cylindrical armchair a renaissance through reinterpretation. Kettal Studio’s Kall collection softens the utilitarian phone-booth into an inviting private space. Material finishes, from timber to terrazzo, tailorable fabrics and colourways enable each strong collection to marry with diverse interior design visions across project scales.

In September for Saturday Indesign 2026, Kettal Workplace launches to the Australian design community, with the Eames Pavilion’s bold form a warm centrepiece—a Salone del Mobile 2026 highlight; this will be the Eames Pavilion System’s first Southern Hemisphere launch. For a chance to win flights to visit Kettal’s factory and Barcelona’s architectural icons, guests will be invited to scan competition QR codes to learn about the collections and enter. The lucky winner will be announced at Mobilia’s Sydney Showroom at 2.30pm Saturday, 12th September, and must be present to accept. Workplace culture relies on human connection. Place is just as important as people in achieving this. It’s why we once nostalgically adorned desks with photos and amulets of individuality. Beyond adaptability, Kettal Workplace harnesses creative expression to drive human-centred workplaces that promote an inspiring visual identity and belonging.
