“Our cities need to stop expanding outwards and start looking inwards at denser utilisation of land. As our cities grow into the future, they need to grow inwards and grow denser,” says Vivian. “Society has coalesced around the idea of wanting to do something for climate change and to be more sustainable. But there is seemingly a disconnect with that sentiment and what we need to do to our cities in order to be more sustainable and less carbon-intensive,” he adds.
