Stylecraft and HASSELL’s collaborative legacy of awe-inspiring showroom interiors has breached new frontiers with the new Stylecraft Singapore showroom.
January 13th, 2020
Stylecraft Singapore has taken up a new residence – twice the footprint of its previous – complete with a distinct Singaporean identity thanks to HASSELL. Located in The Genting Centre on Lim Tek Kim Road, the new space is personified by a striking palette of colours and diverse materiality; an apt stage to showcase Stylecraft’s inimitable range of furniture, lighting, and accessories.

The showroom floor becomes an immersive experience, enveloping visitors in a new scene at every turn. Sumptuous textiles provide homey settings for residential and hospitality-suited furnishings, grounded by Stylecraft’s rug collection. Tacchini’s Julep lounge and armchairs is set against a suitably indulgent backdrop of emerald velvet curtains, complemented by the glazed platinum and copper finishes of the Pi-Dou vase. Meanwhile, mustard draperies set the scene for Australian-designer Ross Gardam’s plush Noon Armchair; Nave by Skeehan has a similarly opulent crimson milieu; and the Softscape modular lounge setting by Helen Kontouris of LEN is nestled amongst drapes of navy velvet. A dedicated space to Arper showcases the Italian brand’s modular and loose furniture collections, along with highlighting Parentesit acoustic wall panels in autumnal tones. Rounding out the residential and hospitality design showcase, a kitchen-esque setting complete with a terracotta-tiled island bench allows for a display of stools from the likes of Arper, Feelgood Designs, and Sipa.
In contrast, cork flooring and perforated wood panel walls reflect evolving workplace design trends and create space to showcase the diverse range of contemporary office furniture available at Stylecraft Singapore. Here, the showroom highlights ranges seeped with versatility and innovation such as those of ThinkingWorks, 9to5 Seating, and Keith Melbourne’s airport lounge inspired Avion collection.

Joel Sampson, Senior Associate at HASSELL who worked with a design team across the Singapore and Shanghai HASSELL studios on the project, describes the design process. “Following on from the success of the Sydney and Melbourne Stylecraft showroom designs by HASSELL, we were very conscious that the showroom needed to be kept within the Stylecraft showroom aesthetic, yet with its own distinct Singaporean identity.
“The experience of designing the new Stylecraft showroom was truly one of co-creation between HASSELL and Stylecraft. The Stylecraft Singapore team truly had 100% trust in the HASSELL design team to deliver a great outcome and have been a dream client for HASSELL. The full design consultant team worked tirelessly for a successful outcome.”
