A 50-year commemoration of B&B Italia, an exciting ‘pixel themed’ installation, the unveiling of new products, and a host of designer brands make Space Furniture a must-see destination on 8 October when Singapore Indesign hits the streets.
September 27th, 2016
Space Furniture is well known and highly respected in the Asia Pacific region as a retailer of leading international brands of furniture, lighting and accessories. Established in Sydney in 1993, Space Furniture has grown over the years, expanding to Brisbane, Melbourne, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore.
Space Furniture’s participation at this year’s Singapore Indesign event on Saturday 8 October promises to be mega. Their 40,000-square-foot Space Asia Hub showroom on 77 Bencoolen Street will be throwing its doors open and inviting architects, designers and specifiers to experience unique aspects of its brand offering, as well as exclusive, never-before-seen products.
One of the major highlights of the day will include a special programme to commemorate B&B Italia’s 50th anniversary. Space Furniture will be screening the film B&B Italia. Poetry in the shape. When design meets industry, and presenting a showcase of commemorative books, concept videos and a heritage wall.
Guests will be the first in Singapore to see three brand new, ready-to-order Flos lighting prototypes. There will also be a Miele live culinary demonstration led by Chef Michele Ow at 12pm with the chance to win a Miele CM8 Coffee Machine.
Singapore Indesign exhibitor EDL will be housed within Space Furniture. Along with their breakthrough product, FENIX NTM® , EDL will be collaborating with ipli Architects to present a contextual installation titled DEMATERIAL, which will affect and distort the host building through pixellation.
The subject of Hospitality is one that’s hotly discussed in design circles, and the topic will be taken up as a panel discussion at Space Furniture at 2pm as part of Singapore Indesign’s highly anticipated Design Conversations series.
‘Experience’ is the buzzword of the hospitality sector, and it’s gaining currency in other sectors too. In the workplace, for example, where social spaces and mobile work practices are now more prominent, greater attention is being paid to the identity and character of the interior. What’s behind the infiltration of hospitality thinking into the workplace, and what affect is this having? These are some of the complex questions that will be addressed at the showroom by leading industry practitioners.
