ASPECT Studios create a sensitive new addition to a Northern Beaches lagoon walk.
January 13th, 2012
Stretching between Deep Creek and Middle Creek, this 2.5 kilometre section of NSW’s Narrabeen Lagoon Walk is the first instalment of a shared pedestrian and cycle pathway that will eventually loop all around Narrabeen Lagoon.
Designed and constructed by the Sydney arm of ASPECT Studios – who recently completed work on the Darling Quarter in Sydney’s Darling Harbour – the new multi-use trail brings new access and ease of use to one of the most beautiful bush trails in Sydney’s northern beaches.
A timber boardwalk features strategic seating and lookout points joining the bush to the lagoon edge, providing new experiences for visitors along a sensitive landscape setting.
Lookouts were designed as sculptural as well as functional elements. The designers ensured that the built structures had a minimal impact on surrounding vegetation.
As well as providing a recreational resource, the Narrabeen Trail creates better connections between the communities of Pittwater and Warringah.
