Calling all designers! With $30,000 worth of prizes up for grabs, Designer Rugs wants to see your very best rug designs for its Evolve Awards. Entries open Thursday 14 March and workshops are kicking off across the region now.
Designer Rugs is proud to announce its fourth iteration of the Evolve Awards. For the very first time, this year’s awards will extend its reach right out to Asia, which will invite a larger range of design professionals to take part in the competition. The winning rugs will form part of Designer Rugs Evolve Collection 2019, (formerly known as the ID Collection). The winners from both Evolve and Evolve Emerge will also have the chance to take home a prize pool worth over $30,000AUD including a trip to Milan, as well as their own personal rug design. What do you need to enter? To be eligible, entrants must be an architect, interior designer or interior decorator who are a permanent resident of Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong or Indonesia.
For year’s Designer Rugs has been working closely with Australia’s top designers, architects and artists to collaborate and create innovative and eye-catching rug designs. Some of the top talent that the brand has created over the years includes Akira Isogawa, Dinosaur Design, Catherine Martin and indigenous artist Minnie Pwerle.
Entrants are invited to submit a maximum of three designs intended for a 200 x 300cm or 250cm diameter rug. The designs should be innovative, inspiring and original, suitable for residential and commercial interiors. This year, all applications will be made online evolve.designerrugs.com.au (all specifications can be found on this site).

Each workshop will be mediated by Local Designs creative director Emma Elizabeth, who also has a series of collections with Designer Rugs. And as an extra special treat, each city will also host a guest speaker – including some huge names to take inspiration from.
