This June 8th to 10th, the Australian A+D community will be heading down to Melbourne for the annual industry event Denfair.
Held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, for 2017 Denfair has curated a handful of local and international brands, seeking to present an authoritative platform to both emerging and veteran members of the A+D world, alike. Replete with creative installations, timed events and pop-up locations, brands such as Cult, Space, Mokum, Designer Rugs, Ajar, Meizai, Nomi and many, many more brands we know and love will be launching brand-spaking new products for the local market. Safe to say, the Indesign Team are pretty pumped to check it all out!
Here’s our hit-list of ‘must see’ attractions for Denfair 2017:
1: ART
Including names like Kerry Armstrong, The Gallery at Denfair will feature the work of many brands and creative visionaries from Victoria and beyond. With the added lure of a swanky Art Bar, The Gallery at Denfair is sure to be a top location on many attendees’ schedules.
2: TEXTILE
Whether woven, knit, hand-painted or printed, the latest in textile design and production will be showcased at the Denfair Textile District. From high-end big brands to boutique up-and-comers, the full spectrum of contemporary fabric and textile design will play a central role in the fair’s celebration of today’s A+D world.
3: SOUND
A brand new feature at Denfair this year – thanks to the new addition of brands like Bang&Olufsen to the Denfair family – the Sound Precinct is a concentrated showcase of design-driven sound technologies. With the increasing importance placed on acoustical engineering in all of our environments, the prominence of ‘sound’ at this year’s event will satisfy our growing need for more quiet.
4: NEW FACES & OLD FRIENDS
Whether they’re household names or fresh faces to the industry, Denfair is seeking to champion the diversity that makes our industry great. With Front/Centre – Denfair’s emerging designer showcase – the latest in influential brands, products and ideas will present a brave image of tomorrow’s A+D world. Meanwhile, those names your know and love (and those familiar faces we look forward to catching up with) will be out in full force at Denfair’s Supply Precinct, getting to grips with the colliding worlds of food and design at Art De La Table.
5: … & SPEAKING OF FOOD…
And when you’ve run around Melbourne all day, caught up with old friends (and made a few new ones!) be sure to sit back relax and put up your feet. After all, you’ve deserved it! We’re definitely looking forward to a well-deserved glass of wine at the end of it all while we check out Fiona Lynch’s reimagined Denfair Restaurant, Oyster Bar and Cafe.
