The quiet elegance of Danish design is now resonating through the trendy streets of Sydney with the unveiling of Bang & Olufsen’s new flagship store. Occupying prime real estate within the Cosmopolitan Centre in Double Bay, the retail outpost stretches across 220 square metres of the luxurious shopping district.
Visitors to the new store can expect an all-encompassing selection of Bang & Olufsen’s premium products in an immersive retail environment. The offerings include many of the brand’s cutting-edge audio equipment, including the latest Connected Speaker range, featuring the newly launched Beosound A5 and Beosound A9 5th generation models.
Design Collection Denmark’s head of Australia and New Zealand, Byron Griffin, enthuses: “We are so excited to be launching in Double Bay, one of the most sought-after suburbs in Australia. We look forward to getting closer to our customers, offering not only longevity in design and quality craftsmanship but also sustainability in technology for future generations.”
However, Bang & Olufsen’s expansionist move Down Under is only one aspect of their recent pursuits. Back in Denmark, their home country, the brand participated in Copenhagen’s esteemed 3daysofdesign event, with a presentation that showcased their rigorous design philosophy.

At the tenth iteration of the 3daysofdesign event, Bang & Olufsen marked its presence with an engaging exhibition named Conversations in Sound. The display told a compelling story of the company’s commitment to innovative design, with a focus on the Beosound A5 speaker that is itself a distinct piece of product design.
This innovative speaker, born from a collaboration with design duo GamFratesi, demonstrates Bang & Olufsen’s pledge to craftsmanship and creativity. Its unique design, notable for the use of paper raffia, offers a fresh perspective on materials, departing from traditional audio equipment aesthetic norms.
Visitors to the Conversations in Sound exhibit were invited on a journey through the design-based creation of the Beosound A5. The comprehensive display of sketches, prototypes, and raw materials painted a vivid image of the meticulous process behind transforming an initial idea into a tangible object, illustrating the role played by design in quality products
