Established nearly a decade ago, Tom Skeehan brings purpose and an intuitive personality with the new soul of the SKEEHAN brand.
April 30th, 2020
Award-winning local designer, Tom Skeehan established the leading creative studio, SKEEHAN in 2011. Based in Canberra, SKEEHAN encompasses a dedicated, close-knit team of research and design experts that constantly reimagine the way we interact and experience our everyday spaces.
The multidisciplinary design studio collaborates and thrives on intuitive projects – each with a problem to solve and a unique story to tell.
“We’re a team of problem solvers at heart – one that relishes in the collaborative design process,” expresses Tom. “Through our close and honest partnerships with local researchers, designers and manufacturers; we create thoughtful products, spaces and experiences; each uniquely tailored to the people and environments they are intended for.”
SKEEHAN offers end-to-end intelligent, refined and meaningful design services with the user in mind. This month, the creative powerhouse has unveiled a new identity as we enter the new decade, including a new company logo, website and products. In collaboration with the Canberra-based creative agency, Inklab, SKEEHAN hits the refresh button with a thoughtful and sophisticated re-brand.
Tom adds, “We’re truly committed to transparency in our processes, materials and partnerships; guiding projects through a constant exchange of ideas.”
SKEEHAN’s brand overhaul coincides with a new commercial collection designed exclusively for Stylecraft.
The celebrated Nave Modular Collection for Stylecraft is a material-driven range with a minimal and elegant continuous silhouette. Designed to be scaled for any project, the reimagined range of Nave Modular takes upholstery and material details from the extensive Nave collection to build a new family of products.
Nave Modular demonstrates textural and sculptural depth, unique to the SKEEHAN name. Consisting of various sizes and shapes of ottomans, the distinctive products create a new narrative for activity-based and agile work environments.
Crafted with human interaction in mind, SKEEHAN’s design solutions seek to reconnect people with the material world around them.
The elements can be arranged into various undulated shapes and re-configured to suit the needs of the individual within a commercial environment. Dynamic in form, Nave Modular is designed to supports the demanding requirements of the workday, with additional side tables made for writing or resting to enhance the practicality of the system.
“SKEEHAN’s collections combine simplicity and premium workmanship to produce considered and timeless products,” says Stylecraft Brand Director, Tony Russell. “After the positive reception in the design community to the Hoshi & Nave collections, we are excited to continue our collaboration with Skeehan as the brand evolves, matures and introduces elements to the original Nave collection.”
The Nave Collection is available Australia-wide exclusively through Stylecraft.
