Introducing Ross Didier’s ‘Bombala’ lounge chair, ottoman and stacking diner.
October 9th, 2009
The ‘Bombala’ seating range is the result of several years’ research and development by designer, Ross Didier.
Engineered with a reverse cantilevered frame, ‘Bombala’ represents extremely comfortable seating and striking looks and appeal.
Didier explains that ‘Bombala’ was originally inspired by Miles van de Rohe’s Barcelona chair. “My intention was to reinterpret this 1928 design to embody new, unique character with a more contemporary aesthetic, and for outdoor use,” he says.
The reverse cantilever design has been specially reinforced, allowing flexibility and comfort in the structure, while tapered angles in the form make ready for upholstery options .
The seating is hand-fabricated in mild steel with the utmost attention to detail, so that the seating surface and welded junctions in the tubing blend perfectly. The metal is first treated and then coated in a choice of 10 premium-grade polyester colours – for both indoor and outdoor specifications.
The ‘Bombala’ range also includes a matching four-leg stackable table chair, and Didier will soon follow with a range of upholstery cushions to complement the entire range.
