At the inaugural Asia Pacific Architecture Forum, Vokes & Peters showcase their Details and Manners Exhibition explores the firm’s history of architecture and design in Queensland.
March 7th, 2016
For the next few weeks, Brisbane’s The Artisan will be hosting an exhibition artfully curated by Queensland architects Aaron Peters and Stuart Vokes (Vokes & Peters) showcasing “the reciprocal relationships between architecture and design practices working from the minute to the macro”.
Renowned for their careful consideration of both the exterior and interior design of a project, the firm is distinguished for its “unique exploration of the Queensland house and its aesthetic of austerity”. It is fitting, then, that the exhibition is designed to be one of the many events taking place during the inaugural Asia Pacific Architecture Forum, currently hosted by Brisbane.
The forum is intended to “showcase the diversity of the countries, cities and people of the Asia Pacific and reflect on the way new world cities are responding to the opportunities and challenges of the Asian century”. As such, the Details and Manner Exhibition is a quintessential celebration of Australian – and Queensland – architecture at its finest.

In this candid interview, the culinary mastermind behind Singapore’s Nouri and Appetite talks about food as an act of human connection that transcends borders and accolades, the crucial role of technology in preserving its unifying power, and finding a kindred spirit in Gaggenau’s reverence for tradition and relentless pursuit of innovation.

In design, the concept of absence is particularly powerful – it’s the abundant potential of deliberate non-presence that amplifies the impact of what is. And it is this realm of sophisticated subtraction that Gaggenau’s Dishwasher 400 Series so generously – and quietly – occupies.
