Electrolux has revealed the 35 semi-finalists of its 13h annual Design Lab competition.
July 1st, 2015
The theme of the 2015 competition is that of “Healthy Happy Kids”. The competition looks for innovative ideas for products, accessories, consumables and services in three focus areas: Cooking, Fabric Care and Air Purification.

Thomas Johansson, Design Director and one of the Electrolux experts, says, “The semi-finalist concepts of Design Lab 2015 are original, innovative and thought provoking. The students have now received expert feedback and a new brief to further develop their ideas.

Going forward, the 35 semifinalists will be whittled down to six by the Electrolux experts. These finalists will be revealed on September 15th.

The purpose of Electrolux Design Lab is to stimulate and challenge design students from around the world by inviting them to present new ideas for the future. This continues Electrolux’s ongoing commitment of evolving the face of home appliances.

The prize for the talented designer who wins the competition is a six-month paid internship at an Electrolux global design center, along with 10,000 euros. Half of the winners in previous years have gone on to work for Electrolux after the internship period.
