New Yorker, Jason Miller, treads a fine line with his work. Somewhere between sculpture and industrial design you’ll find his contemporary interpretations of American culture.
July 19th, 2013
Named “Designer of the Year” by the Brooklyn Museum in 2010, Miller’s works form part of the permanent collections in the Museum of Arts and Design, the Corning Museum of Glass and the Brooklyn Museum.
Modo Chandelier with Clear Glass and Black Frame
Taking special interest in lighting design and inherent scope for sculptural exploration, Miller founded Roll & Hill – a collective of designers producing independent, contemporary lighting.
Modo Chandelier with Cream Glass and Polished Aluminium Frame
In addition to his role as CEO and creative director, Miller has also designed the Modo Range of luminaires. Employing a basic “spoke and hub” system of parts, the simplicity of each model’s assembly draws on “off the shelf lighting components found in inexpensive lighting stores”.
Modo Chandelier
What Miller has invested in this collection is a level of craftsmanship and a material selection that elevates the everyday to become something quite exceptional. Each part on each model of the Modo Collection are painstakingly engineered and custom CNC-milled from solid aluminium. The variety of finishes take in black, bronze or polished aluminium and glass spheres can be specified smoked, clear or a cream tint. In the pendant range alone there are 6 different sized models offering the choice of 5, 10, 13, 14, 21 or 27 bulbs.

Ornate without being fussy, the Modo Chandelier and its counterparts cant help but become the sophisticated centrepiece in any residential or hospitality application.
