Caroma provide water aid to the Sydney Theatre Company
November 25th, 2009
‘Greening the Wharf’ – the groundbreaking project to deliver the Sydney Theatre Company energy and water requirements from sustainable sources – has teamed up with bathroom specialists Caroma for aquatic assistance.
With the completion of the upgraded bathrooms at The Wharf, the total replacement of the bathrooms with the latest water saving technologies in this heritage-listed building are expected to reduce water consumption by around 40%.
“This long overdue refurbishment of our public bathrooms at The Wharf allows us not only to pave the way for implementation of rainwater harvesting in the new year but will also ensure optimum water efficiency through the provision of state-of-the-art fixtures by Caroma,” said Sally Noonan, Head of Development from Sydney Theatre Company, commenting on the renovations.
The Caroma Cube Urinal Suites that operate at a minimal 0.8l per flush are one of the sources of the success of this sustainable initiative.
With the Caroma Smartflush 4.5/3L toilets also in place, which compared to the previous 9 litre units will cut the consumption of water in half, this theatre’s flush just got a whole lot friendlier.
