TONIC have created a fun new take on a dental surgery with Brisbane’s Le Tooth.
December 19th, 2011
A visit to the dentist wouldn’t be as dreaded if all dental surgeries looked like this. The interior of Le Tooth, in Brisbane’s West End, combines a serene aesthetic with whimsical touches for a soothing space with a lot of personality.

“White, white, white was the mantra the client commanded,” explains Justin Wells, Director of TONIC, who led the project team.
“TONIC approached the project with a true ’clean’ approach: benches off the ground and off the side walls; floating furniture was required and all things ’square’ were necessary.”

Quantum Quartz engineered stone was used for the benchtops in the surgeries and the reception desk, for a clean and smooth finish. Polished concrete floors continue the look.
Subtle details break up the space, lending character and visual interest and creating a friendly, welcoming feel.

“I have a personal aversion to going to the dentist, so perhaps this fear was a creative catalyst to deviate from the stereotypical dentist fitout,” says Wells.
“I think the design outcome hedges between thought provocation and serenity. But the client is the real rock star.”
