The +ARTESIO kitchen from Poggenpohl has bagged the coveted “red dot: best of the best” 2011 award.
August 31st, 2011
German kitchen brand Poggenpohl took home the “red dot: best of the best” prize for its latest innovation – the +ARTESIO kitchen concept – in a ceremony held at the Aalto Theatre in Germany last month.
Out of 4,433 entries submitted by some 1,700 companies from 60 countries this year, only a mere 1.3 per cent were selected for the “best of the best” accolade.
Developed in cooperation with renowned Hamburg-based architect Hadi Teherani, +ARTESIO makes a bold leap past the typical fitted kitchens of today, offering instead an all-embracing solution that fuses furniture design, wall, floor and ceiling. The result is an integrated space concept in which the aspects of building, architecture, home and kitchen come together as a harmonious whole.
Defining the design is an innovative and functional arch, which builds a visual bridge between cooking and living, producing an entirely new sense of space.
