Professional designers are rewarded through eight industry categories and student designers are recognised through the 2009 Australian Design Award – James Design Award, in partnership with Dyson Appliances (Australia).
In 2009, 73 products are finalists in the industry categories of Consumer, Business & Technology, Sport & Leisure, Architectural & Interior Products, Automotive & Transport, Medical & Scientific, Heavy Machinery, and House & Building. Entry is open to products designed in Australia or overseas, but available for sale in Australia.
