Something Beginning With (SBW) is a brand focused on creating Australian-made, innovative and elegant designs. Designs that are applicable for the residential, commercial and hospitality sectors.
SBW is the hallmark of the creative collaboration between Melbourne-based designers Lisa Vincitorio and Laelie Berzon.
With nearly ten years experience in furniture and homeware design, Lisa Vincitorio captivated the design community when she became the youngest Australian designer to partner with Alessi. Receiving an accolade at the Tokyo designers block 2005, Lisa has achieved worldwide recognition for her designs with Alessi but continues to develop projects at home, such as the Flemington Races.
Laelie Berzon on the other hand, started out in interior design and visual arts which meshed well with her already solid grounding of the furniture industry. Producing a dynamic furniture collection replete with relevance and longevity was the byproduct of Laelie’s facility for creating practical everyday items that are aesthetically pleasing and embossed with fragrant design.
The two created SBW producing refined collections of furniture. SBW strives to unify the functional with the visually captivating to create a unique and balanced product. Hence, SBW collections speak of function, clarity, simplicity and a sophisticated colour palette.
The collection is a culmination of research, travel and passion for design, coupled with a conscientious understanding within today’s market. Attention to detail, passion for innovative design and providing customised furniture has SBW continually evolving and reaching new heights.
