Staron® Solid Surfaces is recognised by architects and designers across the globe as a leader in its category providing high quality solid surfaces to commercial and residential projects at all sizes. Moreover, the design versatility means Staron can be recognised in a range of simple, complex and creative designs as best suits the client’s brief and the architect’s vision.

In addition to supporting the industry through well-established architects and designers, Staron is equally committed to supporting the students and emerging practitioners in the community. Eleven years ago the Staron® Design Awards were established to showcase the diversity, flexibility and design ingenuity of both the industry and the Staron product offering. In 2020 the awards programme returns to a keen pool of entrants.

The longstanding and overarching goal of the Staron® Design Awards is to offer a platform and exposure to students, designers and architects at all levels using Staron® in outstanding examples of homegrown architecture and design.
The Staron® Design Awards are open in three categories. They are:
The Commercial category
This category is open to any completed commercial or industrial project with a prize of $2000 plus marketing exposure for the winner. The project typologies appropriate for entry include but are not limited to: food service, education, healthcare, retail, office spaces or buildings, public spaces, museums or exhibitions.
The Residential category
This category is open to any completed house or apartment project with a prize of $1000 plus marketing exposure for the winner.
The Concept category
This category is open to any idea or concept that has not yet been realised. This can be a drawing, graphic or sketch of a unique product or design that is still in design stage. The prize is $250 plus marketing exposure.
Entries are open to Australian projects only from now until 31 January 2021. The winners will be announced on the Staron® Solid Surfaces website.
