M Contemporary has celebrated the start of summer with an eye-catching show by acclaimed designer and artist Simone Rosenbauer.
Rosenbauer’s acclaimed new series Like Ice in the Sunshine – II (L.A) had its closing party on Thursday 20 October, with gallery owner Michelle Paterson welcoming art lovers for a laid back L.A style art party in Woollahra.
Guests enjoyed tequila cocktails by Trolley’d and a selection of Baja Mexican cuisine in the gallery’s sculpture garden. The event attracted model and fashion designer Vanessa Milanja, filmmaker Lisa Camillo, art collector Sky Leckie as well as Chief Executive Officer of The Royal Hospital for Women Foundation Catherine Oates Smith.
These new works from Rosenbauer depict melting ice blocks by and were all created last year on a residency at Little House Gallery in Los Angeles and continue an ice cream trend. Rosenbauer’s first series of Australian ice creams was shown at M Contemporary back in February 2015 and in July 2015 at the Laurence Miller Gallery in New York with great success.
