Angelene Chan now leads the world’s 12th largest architectural firm as its CEO.
January 27th, 2016
Angelene Chan has just been appointed CEO of DP Architects. The Singaporean firm has 1,200 employees and 15 offices worldwide, and is the 12th largest architectural firm in the world according to the 2016 WA100 survey.
Chan joined the firm in 1990 and jointly headed the retail team working on Suntec City that same year. She became Director in 2000, and was named Deputy CEO in 2013.
Chan has spearheaded numerous award-winning projects, including:
– Sunray Woodcraft Construction Headquarters, which has just won the President’s Design Award 2015.
– The Dubai Mall, the world’s largest shopping mall at 120ha.
– Resorts World Sentosa, a $6.5bn integrated resort in Singapore.
The architect has been instrumental in driving the firm’s expansion into Europe in recent years; Chan has worked on two residential towers in London’s Royal Wharf, and is currently overseeing large-scale retail and mixed developments in Tbilisi, Astana, Seoul, Hanoi, Phnom Penh and Kuala Lumpur.
In 2010, Chan was honoured as one of Singapore’s 20 leading architects under the age of 45 by the Urban Redevelopment Authority.
