Fork lifts, hard hats and safety vests made for a fitting warehouse setting for the launch of three new shades in the Dekton Industrial Collection last week.

The legendary 35-kilogram paella pan was back at Cosentino‘s Gul Avenue warehouse on Friday 25 May 2018, with a monster-size queue of industry guests waiting with firm dedication for a plate of the delectable rice dish by chef Edward Esmero (of My Little Spanish Kitchen). Around 250 people gathered for the launch of three new shades in Dekton‘s Industrial collection as well as three new colours in the Dekton XGloss and Natural collections. An industrial theme framed the night with warehouse safety gear becoming unexpected photo props.
The new shades of Dekton Industrial – Nillum, Radium and Orix – join Trilium to complete the collection. The Industrial collection was designed in collaboration with Daniel Germani, and is based on the look of aged, rusted metals and weather-worn stone. It incorporates all the innovative qualities of the ultra-compact Dekton surface, including resistance to UV rays, scratches, stains and thermal shock, and very low water absorption. Trilium and Radium are manufactured using up to 80 per cent recycled materials.
Says Germani: “The Dekton Industrial collection was created do as to contemplate the beauty of metals and cement at every stage of their life. It pays homage to the beautiful imperfections of the oxidation and degradation process undergone by certain materials.”
Also launched were two new colours for the Dekton Natural collection – Opera (a creamy marble with pale grey veining) and Fossil (a dark veined stone with fossilised imprints), and one new colour for the XGloss collection – Natura (with a glossy veined marble finish).
At Cosentino’s warehouse party, two slabs of Aura from the Natural collection became canvases for spray can art by students from Raffles College of Higher Education as well as guests. The guests’ slab was wiped clean at the end of the night in a demonstration of the anti-porous and waterproof qualities of Dekton surfaces.
