Launch Pad Asia is now inviting submissions from emerging designers in Asia looking to kickstart their careers.
September 30th, 2015
Launch Pad is a design competition and mentorship programme that nurtures emerging design talents by bringing them onto a region-wide stage and offering career guidance from established industry figures.
Following the success of the first Launch Pad Asia, which was held in Singapore in 2014, this year’s Launch Pad programme is inviting emerging talents in Asia to submit their furniture, lighting and accessory prototypes to be judged by respected names in design. The programme will run in conjunction with Hong Kong Indesign, with winners and finalist works to be exhibited during the event.
Launch Pad has been held annually across Australia since 2004. Founded and run by Indesign Media Asia Pacific, it has been guided and enriched invaluably by the design industry members who have judged, mentored, or sponsored, and the talented designers who’ve entered over the years. In Australia, Launch Pad has become a pillar of the design industry, nurturing talent, launching careers and providing pathways for emerging designers across the country.
Just like the Australian model, Launch Pad Asia provides new designers with support and guidance at a critical point in their careers.
Submissions are now open till 20 October, midnight.
Two Launch Pad Asia 2015 winners will receive:
– A cash prize of HKD$5,000 each
– A personalised industry mentorship with a judge of their choice (names of judges to be announced soon)
– A three-year subscription to Cubes Indesign magazine
– Media coverage on Indesign Media’s media platforms, including Indesignlive.hk, Indesignlive.sg and Cubes Indesign magazine.
All finalists will also have their work exhibited during Hong Kong Indesign 2015, where they will be seen by over 2,000 industry professionals.
