The new Bacchanalia restaurant in the historic Masonic Hall takes its inspiration from the colours and movement of champagne.
May 27th, 2013
Formerly a roving monthly themed brunch series held at various venues, Bacchanalia now has a new home on Coleman Street in the historic Masonic Hall. Erected in 1879, the building once served as the Freemason’s club in Singapore.
Designed by Josh Held of Josh Held Design, Bacchanalia’s most eye-catching feature is a champagne-inspired canopy of more than 400 hand-blown illuminated glass ‘bubbles’.
Dark wood paneling, deep tufted leather banquettes and amber illumination give the restaurant its intimate, sultry atmosphere.
A brass and etched glass wall separates the restaurant from an elevated private dining room.
The space evolves as the evening progresses. The dining tables double up as cocktail tables and the private dining area opens up to the restaurant.
Bacchanalia sits a maximum of 150 guests. It serves dishes to be shared and new age champagne cocktails. It also has guest and resident DJs spinning music across genres and according to the mood of the evening.
