$500 million airport upgrade by Woodhead
December 12th, 2007
A $500 million upgrade of Sydney airport has been master-planned and designed by architectural firm and aviation specialist, Woodhead.
Construction will be done in stages to ensure minimum annoyance to travelers, and is scheduled for completion in 2009.
Responsible for the airport’s last major facelift prior to the 2000 Olympics, Woodhead has planned to expand the international terminal by 7,300 square metres, catering for the proposed increase in passenger numbers. World class dining facilities and exclusive shopping boutiques will also be built into the upgrade.
Woodhead principal and aviation portfolio leader David Holm believes the renovations will place Sydney Airport as one of the world’s leading international airports.

The new range features slabs with warm, earthy palettes that lend a sense of organic luxury to every space.
For Aidan Mawhinney, the secret ingredient to Living Edge’s success “comes down to people, product and place.” As the brand celebrates a significant 25-year milestone, it’s that commitment to authentic, sustainable design – and the people behind it all – that continues to anchor its legacy.
