With a new Rick Stein Restaurant opening in NSW, the interior team knew the finishes needed to match the chef’s legendary taste.
It was north coast of New South Wales, in the suburb of Port Stephens that the new Rick Stein Restaurant needed as a home. The Bannisters Port Stephens is a laid back coastal experience like no other, and Rick Stein’s legendary seafood driven cuisine only adds to the experience.
This new restaurant, Stein’s second in New South Wales, channels a bespoke simplicity in its aesthetic, serving as a restrained space where the atmosphere, and renowned seafood dishes, stand as the stars, entertaining guests for lunch, dinner and drinks by the sea.
Designed by Romy Alwill from Alwill Interiors in collaboration with Molnar Freeman Architects and Miwa Design Interiors, the sophisticated space is inspired by the earth and sea, featuring a range of natural materials such as timber and terracotta along with hints of Rick Stein’s signature blue.
The aesthetic of the restaurant is completed by Tongue n Groove flooring, with a range of different floor solutions completing the design. Solid engineered European oak floorboards in the Sienna colour, Eterno classic wire-brushed finish and Grande format feature in various areas of the Rick Stein Restaurant, transitioning to terracotta paving around the bar.
The Sienna finish of deep smoked oak radiating luxe brown tones matches the luxurious furnishings and world-class cuisine of the space, imbuing the restaurant with and undeniable feeling of pure luxury.
