The vibrant fit-out for creative agency Grey Group’s new office is anything but grey.
May 27th, 2011
Creative agency Grey Group wanted to rejuvenate and energise the team in their Richmond office.
Stepping up to the challenge of a small budget and tight 6-week turnaround, Artillery’s Melbourne team collaborated closely with Grey Group to identify their needs and create an inspiring office space for the company to grow in and enjoy.
To capture Grey Group’s brand and philosophy, Artillery Directors Claudette Leeming and Sonja Duric and their team created a ’welcome wall’ with the Grey Group slogan, Famously Effective, lit up in neon and surrounded by polaroids of their team members and clients.
Thought bubbles are a recurring motif in the design, appearing in planters and custom graphics as well as in the form of clear acrylic trophy holders made to look as if they’re floating in space.
Office spaces are predominantly open plan, interrupted by pods painted in whiteboard paint for doodling and brainstorming. The fit-out encourages flexible workstyles to allow the company to grow.
“Grey and Artillery are similar in their energy, enthusiasm and in the high that follows a creative idea,” said the Artillery team of the design process behind the new office space.
“We were on the same page and shared a similar approach. When we were coming up with ideas for the Polaroid wall, simultaneously the Artillery and Grey team came up with the ’famously effective’ being in neon and on this wall. When we presented this idea, Grey Group’s MD pulled out a piece of paper with a sketch of similar thinking produced by one of the creatives.”
The Grey Group office is a vibrant addition to Artillery’s portfolio of unique, creative designs.
