BrandCulture create a sustainable conversation for the BDA’s Sydney CBD office.
November 22nd, 2011
The new offices of the Barangaroo Delivery Authority – the organisation managing the Sydney waterfront development – overlook the Barangaroo site.
Designed by Woods Bagot Interiors, the sustainable fit-out incorporates reused furniture and recovered items from the Barangaroo site.
To strengthen the sustainability message, BrandCulture created a ’sustainable conversation’ based around the metaphorical second life of these items.
A 3-metre display panel made of Re-Board, an environmentally friendly print and display product, greets visitors at the office entry and provides an introduction to the sustainable story.
Cubes made of Re-Board are scattered throughout the office and hang off chairs, bringing attention to the reused furniture and providing tips on how to achieve a sustainable future. The colour and tactility of the cubes begs them to be picked up and read.
Visual reminders of ’Zero Waste’, ’Water Positive’ and ’Community Wellbeing’, dot the interior, sitting on top of the desk dividers, shelves and cabinets. Shaped like the Barangaroo aerial outline, they reaffirm the sustainability message and the significance of Barangaroo as a social and cultural landmark.
