Irresistible chocolate. Distinctive fashion. Revolutionary design. ‘Made in Belgium’ sets the tone in many areas and as far as rugs are concerned, Limited Edition is a brand that really takes the lead here. Every collection created is handmade for an exceptional look and feel. Belgium can count on rich textile traditions that go back all the way to the Middle Ages, but also focuses on a contemporary approach. Belgium is a nation that diligently invests in innovation and technology to maintain their reputation in art and design.

Creative Director Katia De Witte founded Limited Edition in 1992 and plays an active in role in research, design and creation, while making sure everything from order to delivery runs like clockwork. A dynamo in both business and design, she also manages to combine her glittering career with caring for a young family with three girls.
Philippe Hanet, her husband, is Katia’s partner at home and work, serving as Limited Edition’s chief financial executive. And keeping it in the family, James De Witte, Katia’s brother, is the man who seals the deals, overseeing the international commercial activities of Belgium’s most exclusive contemporary carpet company.
Though globally active, LE makes a concerted effort to maintain the benefits of an intimate family-run business where all attention is focused on ethical staffing, impeccable service, close collaborations with customers, superior Belgian quality, sustainable production and innovative designs to decorate the most luxurious homes in every corner of the world.
So what can you expect from Limited Edition?

DESIGNERS & DEVELOPERS
Behind every rug, there is the customer’s story, but also the talent of Limited Edition designers and developers. “At Limited Edition, everyone has his or her own specialty,” says Katia, “but we all share one thing: our unconditional love of materials, textures and designs. Our people follow trends closely, but are equally eager to put their own stamp on the work to create unique rugs every time, as illustrated by Limited Edition’s many iconic creations worldwide.”

CRAFTSMANSHIP & INNOVATION
In this digital age, it may surprise you that many steps in the rug making process are still manual. Katia notes that: “We start by sketching the collections with pencil and paper. Our craftspeople then use small handlooms for weaving the new designs and then our hand tufters get to work until all the pieces of the jigsaw fit together.”
Of course, even though they do the work by hand, that does not mean they approach things exactly the way it was done 100 years ago. At Limited Edition, craftsmanship and innovative technology go hand in hand.

DESIGNED AND MADE IN BELGIUM
Coming up with ideas, dyeing yarn, finishing a rug: Limited Edition does everything with the greatest care at the in-house workshop in Belgium. “The region of our headquarters in Mouscron has rich, firmly embedded textile traditions,” says Katia.
“The age-old history of textiles is intertwined with the South-West Flanders region. The Mouscron area, where Limited Edition’s workshop is based, can rely on a long textile tradition with invaluable expertise. This results in pure craftsmanship with a nostalgic nod to the past and all the high-tech innovations of today and tomorrow.”
Limited Edition prefers to control the entire production process, from the exciting early days right down to the ambitious end. Development and production are both under one roof, which makes monitoring and follow-up easier to get everything right, from the shade of yarn to the smallest finish detail.
“We also have our own yarn dyeing studio. We see it asa bit of a playground where we get to enjoy mixing different colours to get just the right custom shade, but where we also apply the highest quality assurance standards,” explains Katia.
