A standout feature of the ANZ Centre in Melbourne’s Docklands is upholstery by Pelle Leathers.
April 29th, 2011
Designed by HASSELL in collaboration with Lend Lease Design, the ANZ Centre in Melbourne’s Docklands is a forward-thinking contemporary office with a high-end corporate aesthetic.
Australian leather supplier Pelle Leathers was chosen to supply leather for upholstery and wall screens in the stylish fit-out.
The ’Ascona’ range in Pyrenees offers slight sheen and smooth texture in the foyer’s seated area.
On all of the upper levels, ’Ascona’ in Ivory was used in wall screens designed by Basile & Evans.
Pelle Leathers products were chosen not only for their aesthetic qualities, but for their durability and sustainability.
“Our brief,” said Andrew Spanswick of Pelle Leathers, “was to provide our leather range ’Ascona’ with all of the relevant qualified environmental information, as this project had to meet a 6-Star Green Star rating.”
Pelle Leathers products come from tanneries in Italy and Germany and sit at the forefront of environmental compliance and responsibility.
Pelle Leathers have been involved in a number of high end projects, including AXA and National Foods, also led by HASSELL.
Short lead times and the highest quality ensure that Pelle Leathers are the perfect collaborator for any design project. Their work for the ANZ Centre is just one striking example.
“To have been part of the ANZ project carries both privilege and prestige,” said Spanswick.
“It enables firms in the A&D market that have not used our product before to realise the high-end quality and integrity behind our company.”
