Founder Alona Klaro spearheads K.I.D’s approach to forward-thinking design, building a case for sustainably manufactured commercial grade furniture which looks and feels luxurious.
K.I.D pieces are composed with a unique visual language which carries the brand identity, addressing the evolving needs of modern workplaces without compromising on aesthetics or local manufacturing. One of their most recent breakthroughs in responsible design includes the EASY_s range, which showcases a pairing between fine Australian craftsmanship and sustainable practice.
“We are looking to bring a ‘slow fashion’ philosophy and apply it to commercial interior products, to reduce landfill and support local manufacturing,” says founder Alona Klaro. “By spending the time to develop and nurture relationships with our makers, we can respond quickly to clients and fulfil briefs, knowing that we have done the homework for them.”
K.I.D’s EASY_s collection introduces a new perspective on the popular inclusion of residential seating in commercial spaces. Utilising a human-centered design philosophy and a playful visual language, this collection is founded on a bold Australian design statement which ensures longevity and quality without compromise.
This collection achieves an intriguing neotenic visual language through the use of readily available commercial grade foam shapes – an environmentally conscious choice which eliminates the need for mould process and minimal production quantities requirement. The result is an inviting, cloud-like seating experience designed for heavy commercial use. Cutting through the everyday bustle of the workplace, the collection achieves a relaxed, organic form through the use of natural wool upholstery and carefully selected fabrics.
Nestled in Sydney’s Inner West, K.I.D’s new HQ serves as a dynamic hub for design enthusiasts, where prototypes and ongoing designs converge amid a biophilic setting that maximizes natural light and greenery. K.I.D’s focus on ‘slow fashion’ blazes a trail towards the reduction of waste and champions local manufacturing through curated relationships with makers.
This commitment to sustainability resonates throughout their design process, resulting in a concise product range which spans seating, storage, and workstations. A standout amongst K.I.D’s eclectic product offering, the EASY_s range embodies the company’s dedication to enduring quality and eco-conscious design. Learn more here.
