What does your company supply?
Meinhardt is a multi-disciplinary engineering and professional technical services consultancy.
How did your company start?
Bill Meinhardt started the engineering consultancy in Melbourne in 1955. Since then we have led the way in delivering imaginative and buildable designs.
But we have grown to be much more than your typical engineering firm, including services like planning, project and programme management, environmental advice and façade design.
Where do you distribute/operate?
We operate all across Australia with offices in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney but we also have international offices in China, India, Malaysia, Middle East, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, UK and Vietnam.
Describe your customers.
Our customers are our partners whether they are architects, developers, councils or contractors. They enjoy the project journey and enjoy working with us because we understand each other.
Igor Molitor at HBO+EMTB architects said, “In Meinhardt we’ve found a collaborator that was looking for practical solutions without compromising the architecture.”
What sets your company apart?
We place great emphasis on the way we do things.
Our aim is to come up with new, smart solutions which clients can easily deliver and which benefit their businesses commercially. And we make sure they enjoy working with us. Fundamentally, clients get ideas that work. It’s what we call ’Practical Imagination’.
What are your clients’ priorities at the moment?
In a toughening property market clients know they have to think and design smarter and they want to collaborate with like-minded consultants. This is exactly the focus of our ’Practical Imagination’ approach.
What is good design to you?
Good design meets an architect’s aesthetic aspirations, is buildable and safe to work on for contractors, gives developers a return on their investment and enriches the lives of the users, in whatever way that may be. Our role is to be the glue that helps meets all these needs.
What does the future hold?
Growth in our capabilities – we have recently added urban and landscape design to our services. Growth in our sectors – we are now working in the Mining and Resources sector. Growth in our geographic spread – we are exploring opportunities in WA and other QLD locations.
