This new set of Oaken stools embodies contrasts in a unique and memorable form
March 1st, 2013
Ics and Ipsilon are a set of stools designed by Rodrigo Torres for Poliform. Distinctive and with a confident, well-defined style, the Oak stools were inspired by research into stylistic contrasts that involve form and materials.
The legs, solid and tapering until they’re almost rounded at the bottom, contrast with the lightly curving seat resting atop. This contrast occurs in a naturalised way, so that the shape of each part seems to flow on from the form of another.
The combination of heavy and light gives Ics and Ipsilon a dynamism.
Ics is the taller of the two, suitable for seating at bars or benches, while Ipsilon is a low stool that could double as a side table.
The seat has an X inlay detail, and the seat and structure can be made from Natural Oak or Spessart Oak, available in 32 lacquered colours.
The sophisticated use of contrasts in Ics and Ipsilon gives rise to a design that is unique and striking. A memorable presence in any interior.
