The Didier Design Studio is expanding its signature table ranges into a fierce exploration of natural phenomena.

Crevasse and Caldera: Yin and Yang, push and pull. Two of the Didier Design Studio’s most iconic series of table designs are now expanding to incorporate opposing forces of nature at lower coffee tables, bar heights and custom extended lengths. Crevasse rectangular depicts the outward generative power of landscapes being forged, while Caldera round denotes the inward remaining impressions left in the aftermath.
“I was fascinated by the juxtaposition of what is formed through violent natural phenomena,” says designer Ross Didier. “On one hand you have rugged glacial mountains that appear to extrude from the earth, and on the other you have beautiful, rounded remnants from volcanic eruptions,” he said. “While the Crevasse range is inspired from landscapes that are formed, the Caldera range represents what’s left.”
Both ranges are increasing to include coffee tables, bar tables and new complementary desking. All products are manufactured in Melbourne and fabricated in select natural Oak, with other stain colours or Walnut timber by project request. Elegant, low coffee tables and bar tables at two different heights offer a wide range of flexible applications for residential, commercial, hospitality and workplace design. The Crevasse design also now features a desking range with a coordinating ergonomic office chair.
Crevasse evokes a feeling of raw wildness reminiscent of rugged, windswept glacial landscapes. The elegantly curved bases turn negative space into a visual feature, symbolic of cliff faces which have been eroded over time. Crevasse is articulated in oak and available in a broad range of top sizes and pedestals – each one a functional, artful expression of the natural world and its vibrant ferocity.

Ever committed to providing the best personalised service possible, Didier offers custom CREVASSE sizes and extended lengths with diamond support pedestals by request.
Caldera captures the quiet grace of monumental landforms. Subtle yet strong, Caldera clearly draws influence from the round craters which appear in the aftermath of a volcano – an ode to resilience, recovery, and transformation. Caldera offers a wide selection of top diameters and Caldera pedestals, with every table at every height introducing a subtle sculptural emphasis into any interior.
Dilder’s ongoing commitment to the combination of design purity and crafted engineering allows these ranges to shine – and it should come as no surprise that these ranges have some exciting hidden details.
Dimensions:
“The pared-back and sculptural pedestals have been designed to allow maximum space for legs and accompanying seating positions, so nobody needs to navigate intrusive table bases,” said Ross. “Connector plates are rebated flush to top, and the special, double bevelled profile of the long sides creates a distinct aesthetic that relaxes the upper resting edge while softening the under-boarder.”
Both Crevasse and Caldera articulate a bold statement about the natural phenomena which shape our world. Learn more about these stunning designs and their thoughtful conception here with the Didier Design Studio.
