2012 looks set to be an exciting year for Bolon, with a creative collaboration with Jean Nouvel on the cards.
December 16th, 2011
Swedish flooring company Bolon has teamed up with acclaimed architect Jean Nouvel for a joint project, which will make its debut at the Stockholm Furniture Fair in February 2012.
“Jean Nouvel will be creating an architectural setting that will also be presented in one of Bolon’s newly-developed digital tools designed specifically to inspire architects,” says Marie Eklund, Bolon’s Creative Director.
“We are unable to reveal more details at the moment but we promise that Bolon’s stand will be out of the ordinary. Of course, Monsieur Nouvel will also be with us at the fair.”
The collaboration is the first in a series of Bolon collaborations with selected “Architect Friends”, an extension of their Designer Friends projects created with well-known designers over the years.
Nouvel is probably best known for his work on the Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris and Danish Radio’s Concert Hall in Copenhagen, alongside other large public buildings and institutions.
“We are naturally tremendously proud and delighted to have formed this partnership with Jean Nouvel, who is one of the world’s most outstanding and talented architects, and it gives us a fantastic opportunity to display the full potential of our floors,” says Eklund.
