On 7 August, the Powerhouse will stay open late for Play Late, an evening of creative stimulation and socialising; local designers will orchestrate the evening’s program which includes light projections on the outside of the building, multi-media installations and guerrilla knitting.
A key collaboration for this year’s festival is Eat Green Design, a temporary purpose-built sustainable environment serving locally produced bio-dynamic and organic food on specially commissioned recycled and remade tableware and dining furniture. Visitors and diners will hear from a line-up of guest speakers, including the designers of green Australia.
Other events include the ‘bespoke’ workshop series, basement tours of archived fashion and design collections from around the world and the announcement of this year’s Design NSW: Travelling Scholarship.
