Belated celebrations honour Woods Bagot’s win-win in the 2020 INDE.Awards The Work Space categories, courtesy of event partners Wilkhahn and Woven Image.
December 14th, 2020
In the past year the notion of IRL industry events has become something of a surreal and distant memory. Back in August, we at Indesign took to the virtual world of grand-scale digital events for the first time, taking the annual INDE.Awards online with the inaugural INDE.Awards Digital Gala. It was a splendid event that will certainly be happening again, but no doubt the ability to celebrate together, in person was missed. So when Wilkhahn and Woven Image — proud partners of the Best of the Decade | The Work Space and The Workspace event categories, respectively — wanted to do something special for their category winners, all involved jumped at the chance.
On the evening of Thursday, 10 December 2020, we joined the teams from Wilkhahn, Woven Image, Woods Bagot and CBA to mark the occasion of the 2020 INDE.Awards and acknowledge Woods Bagot’s literal win-win, as the receiver of both accolades, thanks to the firm’s design of Axle, in Sydney’s South Eveleigh, for CBA.
Hosted at Wilkhahn’s Sydney showroom, Blair Coventry, director at Wilkhahn Asia Pacific, welcomed attendees warmly, before attention turned to John Borzi, Woven Image CEO, for the official presentation of the awards. Formalities were short and sweet, with both the 2020 INDE.Awards The Work Space and Best of the Decade | The Work Space titles awarded to the same project. On behalf of Woods Bagot, principal architect and deserved winner Amanda Stanaway was there to accept both accolades, humbly sharing the glory with her clients at CBA, citing them as integral to the project’s success.
That it was a tad belated mattered not a bit. The chat amongst the crowd resounded with delight for the chance to be together and catch up face-to-face — kudos to all who came and saw; those who conquered; and most especially to the night’s hosts Wilkhahn and Woven Image.
