Just in time for the magazine’s 50th issue, we welcome back Aleesha Callahan, previous digital editor for Indesignlive, as the new Habitus editor.
November 10th, 2020
For more than 10 years Habitus has been unearthing the most unique residential design from across the Indo Pacific Region, sharing the projects, and the people and products that make them different. Habitus is pleased to announce Aleesha Callahan has been appointed editor, taking over from outgoing editor Holly Cunneen.
Aleesha brings 10 years cross-sector industry experience having first practised as an interior designer in Brisbane before moving into publishing. Aleesha’s first foray into design media was in Berlin, where she curated and produced content for Architectuul.com, an architectural archive platform, which piqued her interest in mid-century modernist and Soviet constructivist architecture. After returning to Australia from Europe she worked in communications for the Australian Institute of Architects, before becoming the editor of Australian Design Review with Niche Media. She then joined the Indesign Media team as editor of Indesignlive.com in 2017.
With an unwavering passion for the value and influence that design and architecture has on the way people live, Aleesha is excited to continue to bring the incredible projects and the people behind them to the readers of Habitus. “I can’t wait to discover and share the amazing work from this special corner of the world, and really highlight what it means to live in design,” she says.
If you’ve got interesting ideas or projects, and unique products to share, send pitches directly to Aleesha at aleesha@indesign.com.au.
