For the month of September, Doshi Levien’s upholstered installation of hanging objects inspired by avant-guard theatre costumes from the early Bauhaus period can be viewed at the Lane Crawford showroom, Hong Kong.

The 12-piece collection commissioned by Kvadrat in 2012 is set to travel the globe in an effort to highlight the durable and inherent qualities found in wool.

The vibrant installation uses wool to express the playful union of colour and texture. Often regarded as a contemporary fabric, Doshi Levien has worked to demonstrate the culmination of contrast.

Developed in seven months, the collection is framed around flattened lightweight steel and has been wrapped using more than 7 wool weaves.

The installation strongly represents the flexible qualities found in wool and has been hand-stitched to reflect the materials adaptability to unique shape and design.

The Wool Parade for Kvadrat will next tour South East Asia.
