Shaw Contract’s latest release ‘Configure’ is an extension on its award winning Hexagon carpet tile collection.
July 5th, 2016
“The four new carpet styles of Configure– Plane, Base, Contact and Color Shift – allow designers to create unique arrangements in a variety of colours and endless layout possibilities,” said Shaw Contract Australia’s Marketing Director Max Ekins.
“When Shaw Contract developed Hexagon in 2013, workplace design was shifting to the open model – with emphasis on social connections and the many types of activities that take place within a workspace.
“Now, three years later, the concept continues to evolve. We see the blurring of boundaries and the concept of moveable paths and visual cues to create an intuitive experience. Deconstructing the hexagon is a sophisticated way to integrate these concepts on the floor,” said Max.
The Configure collection combines hexagonal format and asymmetric shapes at random, providing connectivity to build scale and enhance user experience. Designed to promote impromptu interaction, Configure assists with way finding and provides alluring, visual interest.
The four design-led styles of Configure add definition in an organic way, and provide different options to incorporate scale and directional cues. Deconstructed, rhythmic patterns and bold color encourage a more imaginative, playful approach with installation.
Styles within the collection include…
Plane: The foundation of the collection. Plane is one of the original Hexagon collection styles, updated with 14 new colour options.
Base: A 9-colour, neutral palette of shifting shapes that are both graphic and subtle.
Contact: A neutral style with a vibrant colour edge. Can be used as a transition piece or for minimal colour accents. Available in 6 colours.
Color Shift: Available in 5 saturated colours for visual impact. This style works well with Contact.
Configure is suitable for many market segments and offers superior durability, style and recyclability. The Shaw Contract Group lifetime commercial warranty covers abrasive wear, tuft-bind, edge ravel and delamination.
Constructed with premium Eco Solution Q nylon and EcoWorx backing, all carpet tile styles within Configure are certified Cradle to Cradle Silver. These styles are assessed for human health and backed with an environmental guarantee for reclamation.
